Ann is on leave and not currently accepting patients.
Although I use a variety of techniques when working with people, I view myself as a goal-oriented, family therapy-based counselor. I taught Child Growth and Development for ten years for our local College, so I have an extensive background in issues concerning children and families. I have extensive training in Play Therapy, but I work with adults also, addressing many personal problems -relationships, personal growth, professional difficulties, health problems, depression, and anxiety issues, to name a few.
During the initial visit, which is an hour-long, I review office procedures (fees, no show policies), share my background with the client, discuss confidentiality, and talk about how I would plan to proceed to the coming weeks. After obtaining a history from the client, we talk about the goals he/she has for our work together. I typically see people once a week for the first several weeks. A tour of the facility follows, and folks are encouraged to call during the week if they think of any questions that might arise before their next session.
